Land or offshore air drill line spoolers. Standard unit build is as follows: Drive: The motor transmits the torque through a chain and gear system connected to the shaft. The motor and shaft gear system is covered with a guard for protection. All welds are seal welded. Controls: Each unit is supplied with capability for forward and reverse directional control via a throttle valve for air and hydraulic while the electric is through a start/stop control box. A sleeve on the main shaft can be unpinned with derrick pin for freewheeling capability when power is not provided. Capacity: Unit is designed to accommodate a maximum operating weight of 30,000 lbs of drill line. Unit is designed to accommodate a max reel size of 120” diameter x 58” width. Structure: The unit is a fabricated steel frame construction. It is built from an i-beam base with a square tubing a-frame design for support. The main shaft is 5” in diameter and is supported by blocks on each end with grease nipples installed for lubrication. Each block has an oil impregnated bronze material sleeve for shaft support. Shaft blocks are re-movable with 1” derrick pin for reel change out. Lifting pair of padeyes are provided on both sides of the shaft support blocks for lifting during reel change out. Two adjustable locking bolts pins are mounted on the main shaft locking plate. Adjustable clamp tapered sleeve on main shaft for the arbor on the customer supplied reel. Logistics: Each unit will be mounted on an approximately 7' 10” wide x 12' 7” long oilfield type land skid with loading hitches for tail-boarding. The side of the skid can accommodate forklifts with two fork channels. Coating: Each unit to be blasted, primed and painted per a two coat paint specification. Typically 1 coat of primer and 1 coat of customer specified poly-urethane top coat. We can also make a spooler custom to your specific application.
